Safe and Sound in Boring Bratislava

Bratislava gets a bad backpacker rap as a small, boring town with not much going on and an uninteresting old town. For many, it’s merely a stopover from Vienna to Prague or Budapest. I skipped it for that reason three years ago, however, small, boring, and unexciting is exactly how I want to be…especially because I have company.

I am staying with Kate, a BnA moderator, native Chicagoan, and author of a new blog. She is being super helpful and showing me all the best places to eat. We had drinking chocolate within 15 minutes of meeting each other and I knew we were going to get along just fine.

We are heading out to dinner where Peter, who I met in Albania, is going to join us for some traditional Slovak food.

Tomorrow it is off to Krakow and then Warsaw on Saturday for my Sunday flight back to the US!
