Holiday and Weekend Plans
This weekend is set to be a busy one – no big surprise there.
Tonight, I’m thinking about heading to the Portland Beer and Wine Fest and then heading over to SE to hang out with the biker peeps at the Filmed by Bike festival.
Saturday is…more bikes! Charlie and I are heading up to Tahuya, Washington for a race known as T-S-T. The 65-miler has a daunting 4,000 feet of climbing. I, thankfully, am NOT racing as it’s an open women’s field (meaning all women race together) and I have no desire to get my butt kicked up and down the Washington coast. If it’s not 30 degrees and raining, I will, however, ride the course and hopefully get in some saddle time in preparation for next week’s first stage race, the Willamette Valley Classic (three days of bike fun!)
Since the race is three hours away, it will take up most of the day (and evening, as we’ll probably visit with Charlie’s former teammates from Olympia). Sunday will be another ride or run (probably run…), mass and then *shock* more bikes as a group of Easter/Passover orphans get together to watch the Amstel Gold race, drink beer and eat whatever we can get our hands on. Good times!
