Montenegro…the Newest Independent Country?

Onto the next adventure in about 30 minutes to the coast of Montenegro. I am amazingly unknowing about this newly independent country, with the recent changes and skant information in my LP.

I asked around here and despite living about an hour from the border, people do not bother themselves with the country and have not traveled there. I have closed my eyes and pointed and ended up in Kotor (at least, that is where my ticket is going…slight chance I will move further down the coast this afternoon if it is as dead as it could be).

After that it is onto Albania…the north around the lake, Tirana, and then over to Ohrid in Macedonia and up to Skopje.

Dubrovnik..the other side of a post war city

Again, another super short entry.

After a few depressing nights in Mostar where we saw the bridge and the nearby pilrimmage site to visit Virgin Mary, we headed via a train, ferry, bus and another ferry to Korcula, with a fantastic room one minute from the ocean in a 640 year old house for 40 bucks a night. It was in the old town and fantastic, and we met cool people at the wine bar as well.

Now, we are in Dubrovnik and heading off to check out the international film festival. Charlie leaves tomorrow and I will be better with updates then…more bored, I imagine!
