Girl Travels World

It’s as close to official as it’s going to be without buying a ticket and getting on the airplane: I’m going to Eastern Europe!

I’ve been wanting to travel around Eastern Europe since I got back from my RTW in 2003 and I’m totally stoked.

I’ll be gone the entire month of September and October. My goal is to travel to a lot of different countries - don’t tell me to slow down and spend it in just two places. I don’t wanna do that. I’ll do that later when I go back to the places I enjoy.

Charlie is going to join me for part of the trip - starting with Oktoberfest in Germany and the UCI World Cycling Road Race in Salzburg, Austria, where we’ll be meeting up with rock-star BootsnAll Community Manager (and writer on TourdeFranceLogue) Jessica and a bunch of other cycle-happy people.

Oh, it’s gonna be a good trip!

Borrowing from Eryn’s format for her half-ironman, I have a short entry and a long entry.

The short entry is:
I finished up at 5:55:43, beating last year’s time by a fantastic 22 minutes. I took third in my age group, and got a pint glass for my efforts. This race was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Afterwards, I felt like I had just climbed Kilimanjaro again.
