Bummer News Going Into Holiday Weekend

Friday, June 30th, 2006

Two things greeted me this morning:

One: All the favorites for the Tour de France won’t be starting Le Tour on Saturday.

Two: Couchsurfing, a website that I planned on using for my Europe trip, is no longer in existance.

Where Next: Eastern Europe

Thursday, June 29th, 2006

It’s as close to official as it’s going to be without buying a ticket and getting on the airplane: I’m going to Eastern Europe!

I’ve been wanting to travel around Eastern Europe since I got back from my RTW in 2003 and I’m totally stoked.

I’ll be gone the entire month of September and October. My goal is to travel to a lot of different countries – don’t tell me to slow down and spend it in just two places. I don’t wanna do that. I’ll do that later when I go back to the places I enjoy.

Charlie is going to join me for part of the trip – starting with Oktoberfest in Germany and the UCI World Cycling Road Race in Salzburg, Austria, where we’ll be meeting up with rock-star BootsnAll Community Manager (and writer on TourdeFranceLogue) Jessica and a bunch of other cycle-happy people.

Oh, it’s gonna be a good trip!

Useless Facts

Monday, June 19th, 2006
When I was younger, I was a walking textbook of random facts. Although I don't really spout them off anymore, I still like 'em. Get your fill: Useless Facts
